The venue for our meetings is Hayton Village Hall – a rather charming Victorian village school. Meetings last for 2hrs. Cost is £2 per session. Tea, coffee and biscuits are of course provided.
The subjects covered are nothing if not eclectic. During 2024 we learnt about the History of Musical Instruments, Palestine from the Romans to the Present, the History of Wall Art, the Development of Engineering in Retford, Changing Attitudes to Disability and Civilian Populations in the Wake of WW2. A similarly varied programme is planned for 2025.
All the presentations are researched, authored and delivered by members, usually working in small groups. We’re a friendly and enthusiastic bunch. If you feel you may like to join us please contact me, Vernon Davis, via the link below.
